Kanga Happy Tail

Our Salty Dog of the Month for May, Kanga was rescued from the Miami-Dade Animal Shelter (The #1 Kill shelter in the state) and saved from being brought back where she would have been killed as an owner-surrender. Since being rescued Kanga has been diagnosed with juvenile cataracts. At 4 months old she was already going blind!

We have a veterinarian who was willing to discount the full surgery and all related expenses to $2,000 and thanks to your kind donations we raised that full amount!

Kanga’s veterinarian, Dr. Overton, performed the cataracts surgery on June 29, which was a success thanks to your donations! Timing was everything she said. Kanga had already lost 20% more vision in just a month as Juvenile Cataracts are very progressive.

As a 100% volunteer-based charity every penny raised in May went directly to Kanga’s eye surgery – we did not keep any portion from anything!

Thanks to her pawsome rescye With Love for the Animals – Kanga has been adopted! The photo below was taken right after the surgery.
