Nugget, who we can only assume was neglected and abused by her former owners, went for a walk off-leash and was attacked by a much larger, vicious dog nearly killing her. The larger dog tore Nugget’s legs and back open, cracked her ribs, and blinded her in one eye before she was able to narrowly escape. Rather than take Nugget to an emergency veterinarian, Nugget’s former owners decided to surrender her to Animal Care and Control. They wanted nothing more to do with this dog who was next to death. To make matters worse, Animal Care and Control discovered that Nugget tested positive for Heart Worms.

UPDATE: Thanks to your kind donations and support we were able to raise all the money for all of Nugget’s surgeries and care. She is now on the way to recovery and has been adopted! Nugget is an 8-year old Chihuahua.
